Fab News for New Zealand Abortion Services

Writer's picture: HGHG

The New Zealand Ministry of Health is releasing a new Telehealth abortion service to improve access to New Zealand women across the country.

What is it?

A telehealth service means that you can access healthcare without physically needing to be seen by a health professional. It is currently unclear what the telehealth part will look like, however it is a great way to cut down barriers that stand in the way of women accessing these services.

Why is it important?

Abortion is very common but still not really talked about. It has only recently been made "legal" in New Zealand and now we are doing what we can to ensure women can access abortion services early and safely. This new service, DECIDE, will help us do so.

When will it be available?

The site has been said to go live in April 2022 - so keep those eyes peeled! It is difficult to know how much this will get into the media as people still find this a controversial topic. Make sure you tell your family and friends where they can access this.
